Saudi man arrested for attacking guard at French consulate in Jeddah

DUBAI: Saudi Arabian media on Thursday detailed that a man was captured for purportedly assaulting a watchman "with sharp device" at the French office in Jeddah, with the Parisian consulate affirming the reports.

State media revealed that a Saudi resident figured out how to wound a watchman in a speculated blade assault at the French office.

The government office, then again, said the gatekeeper at the French department in Jeddah "was taken to clinic and his life isn't at serious risk".

"The attacker was caught by Saudi security powers following the assault," they added.

Blade assault in France

The occurrence at the French office in Jeddah comes nearly 60 minutes after another cutting assault in Nice in southern France, where a man using a blade killed at any rate three individuals and injured a few others.

Police kept the assailant and France's public enemy of fear investigators affirmed they have opened a homicide request.

Decent Mayor Christian Estrosi told writers close to the basilica that the attacker continued rehashing similar words. "I can affirm everything lets us think this was a dread assault in the Notre-Dame Basilica", he said on Twitter.

Inside Minister Gérald Darmanin assembled a crisis conference, asking individuals to dodge the wrongdoing scene where a "police activity" was in progress.
